Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains how Email Snipper ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, stores, shares, and deletes your information when you use our website and services.
1. Who We Are
Email Snipper is operated by the team behind emailsnipper.com. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at support@emailsnipper.com.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to run the service:
- Account information: Email address and name when you sign up with Google or email/password. Passwords are hashed; we never store plain-text passwords. Google sign-in accounts receive a random password hash on our side because login is handled through Google.
- Usage data: IP addresses and activity logs (e.g., exports, compression type, snippet counts) to enforce rate limits, prevent abuse, and understand product usage.
- Uploaded content: Images and project metadata (slice layout, brand settings) when you use features that require our servers.
- Payment-related data: We do not store credit card numbers. Polar Software, Inc. (our Merchant of Record) processes payments and may share your email, subscription status, and customer ID with us so we can grant access.
- Feedback: Messages you send through our feedback form, and an optional contact email if you provide one.
- Referral program: If you sign up via a referral link, we may store your signup IP address and a hashed browser identifier for fraud prevention.
- Teams: If you join or create a team, team owners and admins can see member email addresses and usage analytics for that team.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Provide image slicing, compression, export, and related features.
- Save and restore your projects while your account is active.
- Authenticate you and protect accounts (including lockout after failed logins).
- Enforce plan limits and subscription access.
- Respond to support requests and feedback.
- Operate team features, invites, and team-level analytics for admins.
- Detect and prevent abuse of referrals, rate limits, and the platform.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Image & Project Retention
- Server storage: When you sign in and use server-backed features, source images and generated files are stored on our hosting provider.
- Auto-deletion: Projects are permanently deleted 14 days after their last edit by an automated cleanup job.
- Manual deletion: You can delete any project from your workspace history at any time; associated files are removed from our servers promptly.
5. Other Retention Periods
- Account profile: Kept until you delete your account or ask us to remove it.
- Usage activity (including IP logs): Kept while your account exists and removed when your account is deleted.
- Feedback: Kept to handle support unless removed when your account is deleted.
- Subscription records: Local subscription rows are removed on account deletion; Polar may retain billing records under their own policies.
6. Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to protect forms with CSRF tokens. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Third parties may set their own cookies when you use their features on our site:
- Google Sign-In may set cookies when you authenticate with Google.
- Google Fonts may receive technical data (such as your IP address) when fonts are loaded.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking session cookies will prevent you from staying logged in.
7. Third-Party Services & Processors
We rely on trusted providers. Depending on which features you use, your data may be processed by:
- Google: OAuth sign-in; Google Gemini receives images temporarily when you use text extraction (OCR)—images are sent for processing and not stored by us on Google's behalf beyond that request.
- TinyPNG (Tinify): Receives images when you use Advanced compression so they can optimize file size.
- Klaviyo: If you connect Klaviyo, your API key is stored only in your browser (
localStorage). Our server proxies requests to Klaviyo using the key you send; we do not persist Klaviyo API keys in our database. Campaign and template data you export is sent to Klaviyo under your account.
- Polar: Merchant of Record for subscriptions, billing, and tax. See Polar's privacy policy for payment data handling.
- Hostinger: Hosting provider where account and project data are stored.
8. International Data Transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than where you live, including the United States and the European Union. We choose vendors that apply appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers where required.
9. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal data. You can:
- Update your display name in the app.
- Change your email through the in-app email change flow.
- Delete individual projects at any time.
- Delete your entire account (see below).
- Email support@emailsnipper.com for other requests.
10. Deleting Your Account
When logged in, open your profile menu, scroll to the footer, and choose Delete account. You must confirm in a dialog that you understand the action is permanent.
Account deletion will:
- Remove your profile and sign-in access.
- Delete your projects and associated files on our servers.
- Remove usage logs, referral data, and subscription records stored locally in our database.
- If you own a team, delete the team and remove access for all members.
- If you are only a team member, remove you from the team without deleting the team.
Paid subscriptions: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel billing through Polar. If you have an active paid plan, cancel it first via Manage Billing in your profile menu (or Polar's customer portal) to avoid future charges.
Klaviyo API keys stored in your browser are not deleted by us when you delete your account; clear site data in your browser or remove keys from Klaviyo if needed.
11. Children
Email Snipper is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
